Drew McDonald is an Australian multidisciplinary artist working across painting, sculpture and installation. Having studied at the University of Tasmania and Griffith University, his practice is informed by Dada, Surrealism, Pop Art and allegory, exploring human folly and the strange ways we navigate contemporary existence. Through absurd, playful and often unsettling combinations of familiar forms, McDonald examines the contradictions between progress and culture, comfort and uncertainty, humour and mortality.
